Yours,
Hi Christine. Actually my normal homepage is rather lame. :-) And (speaking very honestly) I haven't updated it for months. The only thing I change/update every week is my CD list. Since I am very busy at university (I study chemistry at the RWTH Aachen) I do not have much time to spend a lot of work on my other pages. And believe me: Running the Goth Goose site wastes a lot of valuable time but I keep it going because some people really need a good laugh. :-) Well, if you want to have a look at my homepage why not use a searchengine or scan the web for some of these Goth Goose rip-off sites where people have set up a link to my personal pages.

I had a funny experience with this guy named Todd at the gas station the
other day. I don't really know the guy, other than seeing him at some
shows. When he sees my room mate, who's stage name is Daemon, he makes
a point of saying "Hi Jodi!" which is her given name. She's never
hidden that fact from anyone, and she's always responded to the name
Jodi. So I went in to buy a pack of cigarettes and just happened to be
wearing an old Cure shirt. Todd was really nice until he saw my shirt
and then said, "where did you scam that shirt?" And got all snarlly and
bitchy with me. IT WAS JUST A SHIRT! I didn't realize I had to walk
around in black clothes wearing white make up and black eye liner with
big black Robert Smith hair to like the band. I hate these attitudes I
get from people because I like some music that goth geese think belongs
to them and only them. I explained to him that I got the shirt at one of
their shows back in 1992 and he jumped in and blurted out that he was at
that show too. I just said that I could tell he was a cure fanatic by
his big hair and I left. So I don't have pictures of him to nominate
him for anything, he just pissed me off and I wanted someone to vent to.
Thanks
P.J.
Yours,
Hi Paul. Welcome to the club! As it seems you have met just another "I'm Mister Übergoth!". I can understand you very well because it is true that many goths are egocentric assholes but believe me: There are also many gothic people who do not try to be Andrew E. or Robert S. and have a quite fine attitude toward the goth society. I think you know that feeling very well: Your favourite underground band becomes popular and all the normal people listen to them as well. And you, as a an old fellow of the band, feel refused or rejected. Well, I wouldn't really care because The Cure have lost their underground/independent image for a long time at that date (1992) and gothic is not what you portray on the outside but how you feel inside.

Dear straylight,
I bumped into your site some time ago ... laughed my ass off, and i
have sense put a link to goth goose of the week on my page. I thought
that it would be polite to let you know in case you wish me to remove it.
Although i am afraid of your scathing wit (hehhehe) here is my URL
so that you can see where your link is.
Yes I suppose i'm goth (hand, staple, forehead) but i'm fun and fun is
what my page is about. I have no pics as yet so you may not mock my

I was wondering if you have ever thought about nominations for Goth Goose of
the Year. I discovered Cryptie's site on your page and couldn't stop laughing
for hours. I told dozens of people about him, and I bet he's thinking, "Wow!
Look at all the hits I'm getting!!"
I think Cryptie would be the perfect nominee for this award. Keep up the good work!!
Dallion
Love,
Hello Dallion, you are not the first person who has had this idea. There is a thread about a Goth Goose of the Year in my message board which you would maybe like to read. I can already tell you that there will be a GGotY in the end of 1998 and the best thing is: You can vote! In December I am going to make a special page where all of you will have the opportunity to elect your favourite Goth Goose King and Queen of the Year. And by the way, thank you very much for your support.

Yours,
Hi RevEvilGod. Well, I have already thought if I should change the whole layout of the Goth Goose site and use frames maybe but since I am heavily learning for my physics diploma in the university where I study chemistry (Uh yeah, you see that running the Goth Goose site is not my fulltime job and that I have a *real life*) I have postponed the big html changes to a later date. If you like to do a new code I would be glad to receive your alternative version.

I just happened upon your site and found it quite an amusement. I can not believe that these people expect to be
taken seriously by ANYONE. I did need a good laugh. Thanks...
I also find it very curious, and a bit ironic, that many so-called "REAL" goths differ very little from the
laughable goth geese. The very premise(s) that we make fun of are also the same that many/most live by. 'I MUST
wear a goth uniform: black eyeliner, dyed black big hair, white makeup; I MUST listen to (or SAY I listen to the
music I read on the web: SS, SOM, JD, etc) Some pull it off but so many end up looking like charicatures of
themselves. Buffoons. Or goth gooses (geese?!), if you will.
All swear to be SO goth. (As in those dorky captions "I AM SOOO GOTH!") Come on, people, if you have to
constantly
announce that you are goth... you are NOT!!! I mean whothehell are they trying to convince? I
suppose if you say it enough it becomes believable. Just click your sequined boots together and repeat, "There's NO
place like Goth, there's NO place like Goth...."
ANYway, let me stop the rambling before I end up on your page (horrors!) Too bad I haven't a homepage or photo to
present. I look like Marilyn's mom! =) No, no, NO not really. Even my own middle-of-the-road, corn-fed midwest
mother has more sense and style than MM...
Good luck with GGOTW. Please keep it up and thanks for the laughs,
Nightmaire
Yours,
Hi Nightmaire. Thanks for your interesting and funny e-mail. Of course we are of the same opinion when we think that neither a black eyeliner nor The Sisters Of Mercy makes you goth but a strong character. And I refuse to believe that you listen to bands you know ***because of having read about them on the web***. I can just speak for myself but nevertheless I guess every sensible person gets his favourite taste of music by listening to the bands' cds at the local record shop. Maybe I am just too old to say "I have heard of The Sisters on the web first!".

Goodness! Robert is a lot less goosey than a load of the
Olde Schoolers I have known. Sure, his approach to makeup
is different, and I'm not sure that it fits *my* aesthetic,
but it certainly is original, and well-done for all that it
doesn't suit my taste. It is readily apparent that Robert
has a great deal of individuality, a lot of talent and the
personal strength to manifest his individuality in a very
dramatic appearance. I don't think that we should be discouraging
this. Perhaps, when we don't offer up a suitable goose on a
given week, that you should allow the last week's goose rule
for an additional period of time... What do you think?
Azhrarn
Yours,
Hello Azhrarn, thanks for your critical e-mail. Your comment is quite similar to Kai's and Dr. Pain's who have written german letters to me which I have answered in detail. I agree that Robert is not really that bad and does not really fit all Goth Goose categories (actually he fits very few). He became the Goth Goose award just because of his make-up which is "original" but on the other hand quite ridiculous in my opinion. So it's true that I totally agree with your argumennts. By the way, I like your idea of an extended Goth Goose for a second week very much. Although I can promise you that the next week's winner will be a true Goth Goose I will consider it.

Hallihallo Uwe.

Kurzum "Lower all your high standards" sollte doch eher auf die Geese
bezogen sein, nicht auf die Selektion der Kandidaten.
Bleibt mir nur, auf nächste Woche zu hoffen.
Kai Mattern

Well, I don't care for Weasel very much as he dislikes me (no problem for me, though) but I am certainly not pedophile.
